Good Article
A lot of us are 'myth-informed' about love and marriage. The myth of 'a perfect marriage' is widespread and dangerous among us. By setting up unrealistic expectations, impossible dreams and magic thinking, it misinforms, misleads and disillusions us, preparing us to walk away the moment our fantasy clashes with reality. Only the truth can make us free to find fulfilment in our marriage. For the next few days let's explore a few of these myths.
Marriage myth 1: The myth of 'viral love,' insists that love is caught, much like a virus. 'Some enchanted evening' when you happen to be in the right place at the right time, it will zap you. You'll 'catch the bug' and enter a lifetime of unending bliss! The trouble is, when we're worn out taking care of three kids, two jobs and a second mortgage, the 'virus' subsides. In the whirlwind of dishes, nappies and daily routines, something has to give. So romance vacates centre stage and reality takes over. When it does, we confuse romance for true love and mistakenly think it has moved out and that we need to follow it. The truth is, love does not die because romance bows to reality. If two people who once 'fell' in love are willing to 'stand' together in love through the challenges and opportunities of family life, romance can grow again, stronger and more resilient than ever. Love based solely on romance doesn't work when 'for better' meets 'for worse.' Romance based on a decision to love 'till death us do part' is the only love that's dependable, consistent and trustworthy. Romance brings us together, this kind of love keeps us together!

Reward
Your Father who sees in secret will... reward you openly.
Matthew 6:4 NKJV
But if there's no reward, will you still give?

The Fear of Failure
Learn from Me... and you will find rest for your souls.
Matthew 11:29 NIVYou'll notice that unlike us, Jesus didn't suffer from the fear of failure. That's because He never entertained the thought that He couldn't do something His Father had already assured Him He could. And He didn't suffer from a fear of lack either. Even though He lived a simple life He was responsible for supporting Himself and a team of others.
How did He do it? He prayed a lot, and stayed in sync with His Heavenly Father. Consequently He knew how to catch fish when they weren't biting, or find tax money in a fish's mouth when He needed it. (Yes, Jesus paid His taxes too!) Now God may not provide for you in exactly the same way, but He has promised to take care of you (1 Peter 5:7). Today Jesus is saying to you, "Come to Me… learn from Me… and you will find rest for your souls [emotions and mind]" (Matthew 11:29 NIV).
Stress is brought on by our need to know everything ahead of time - to be in control. Even after we pray and supposedly turn the situation over to God, we develop a 'backup plan' in case He doesn't handle things the way we think He should. Do you do that? You don't put your money into a bank then stay awake all night worrying about it, do you? Have at least that much confidence in God. Each time you begin the downward spiral of "How? What? When? Where?", stop and give it back to God. Not the little God of your understanding, but the big God whose track record speaks for itself, whose faithfulness never fails, and who has earned the right to ask you, "Is anything too hard for [Me]?" (Genesis 18:14 NIV). In other words - learn how to live like Jesus.

Content
This is a phrase from a conversation between a hard-charged executive and a monastery monk who decided to spend a few days in it. It's very interesting isn't it? It is true that in our lives there were things that we couldn't easily let go, some people have a lot and some people have very few. But no matter what, God wants us to live in content. That doesn't mean we stop working hard for everything but instead, it means learning how to live with what God gave you. Most of our lives, we spend by getting what we want don't we? How many times did you give thanks to God about what you have today? And try to compare with how much you ask from God?
Well, it's really difficult for us to live like Paul... Me myself too. But i believe living in contentment is far more better than living with requests everyday, because
"Our hearts will never rest, until they rest in Thee."Yeah... I guess that's one more thing i have to learn in life.

To Realise
God's promptings always line up with His Word - even when they don't line up with your ideas.
Today i had my usual daily devotion and saw this. Yeah, for me, it is a challenge and a leap of faith. I admit that for the past few years i've been ignoring God's voice over some things... could be most of the things. It's a shame i didn't listened to Him, if i were to, maybe today i'm not how i am now, i could be better not worse. I know... now is never too late to be turn back and i am turning back, it's... it's just that i lost things when i chose not to listen. Had my lessons..
It's been a long time but to me it's like a blink of an eye, everything happened so fast and i didn't even realise that my faith is getting weaker...Oh Father, thank You for not letting me go, if You were to let go, who knows how worse i could be.. without You, i am nothing.
It's always like that in my life, i fall then i realise important lessons. But i usually lost somehting along the way. I.... don't want to recall what i've lost, but i want to work it out now, i don't want to kept being like this, not anymore, the pain is overwhelming enough, enough for me to learn my lesson. Now, i'm praying hard everyday and do whatever i can to drive myself back on the road, despite how hard it's going to be, i must not fail. That's what i kept telling myself now. I remembered once there's this movie slogan that says like this
If you don't stand for something, you'll fall on everything
That's totally correct! It's what Jesus is trying to tell us too! In this world, if we don't stand our ground, our ground in God's truth, we'd fall on anything in this world. Works, Study, Money, Busy Lifes, etc, there's so many things out there is trying to pull us out from our ground everyday! That's why it's called the spiritual war, you can't see, but it's going on every single day.
I'm aware of that before but it is now then i realise how serious this could be. That's why i have to get up and humble down in front of God.. follow and listen to Him every moment... God Bless Everyone. =)
